Keys N Krates describe Atlanta as one of the “weirdest and most unique places they’ve ever played.” That sounds about accurate when you’re booked at the QUAD on a Friday. Tickets were an insanely low $10 if you got them early enough. Compare that to other stops on the same tour at $35 and be glad you live in ATL. The QUAD is not going to blow you away with elaborate LED stages or a place to go to be seen but what they do focus on is what matters most, the music. When I walked in I was stunned by the talent that is Ralph and Louie. Being new to Atlanta I hadn’t heard them before but they have 20 years experience and it shows. In the South, the house music genre often gets pushed to the side stage at the club. Ralph and Louie are purists and are keeping the genre relevant in ATL. I’ve spent plenty of time in Chicago and Miami, Ralph and Louie could easily have a residency in a club there.

The QUAD also excels at providing a good time and getting people dancing. Keys N Krates recently provided the soundtrack that got Amber Rose twerking on Chris Brown so combine the two and you have a night that kept the crowd dancing until the early morning. 4am to be exact and even after Keys N Krates set was over Midnight Panda kept the venue full.

Keys N Krates set included all their staples like “Dum Dee Dum” and remixes from their “Every Nite” EP which achieved critic and fan acclaim. My favorite song of the night was a remix of “hypnotik” that was mixed in but never fully played. The track can be found in its entirety below. Keys N Krates played my favorite set of TomorrowWorld due to the high level of mixing, song selection and true DJ skills on display. This set was completely different but featured those same elements. Better music for $10 on a Friday night is going to be hard to find.
