As the week draws closer and closer to Imagine Music Festival, it’s time to turn our heads to the next artist spotlight who is no stranger to both Imagine or ATL’s dance music scene: Buku.

Buku is a rising bass star who is an architect of soundscapes. Robert Balotsky, aka Buku, combines deep and emotive melodies and complex rhythms mixed with percussion elements thanks to his love for drums in his childhood. Buku started in music at the ripe age of 8 as a drummer. Growing up, his life generally revolved around music. Balotsky’s work has set him in the forefront of the new wave of talent emerging among North American producers, earning support from the likes of the bass legend himself, Bassnectar, Dillon Francis, Pretty Lights, Lunice, Bro Safari, and many more.

Check out his latest release “Front to Back” below, and be sure to catch his live set at Imagine Music Festival on Sunday at Amazonia at 1:40PM EST (Times are subject to change). This will be his third time in a row playing at this festival, and you will certainly find out why he continues to come back when you see him live on Sunday.
