The legendary Carl Cox is now playing for the last time at the famed Space Ibiza venue. The announcement of the club closing down and “changing” came last year when Cox was speaking at the Asia-Pacific Electronic Music Conference in Sydney in December. He explained that the club will be under control of Ushuaia. “It gets handed over to Ushuaïa Group across the road and its manager Jan will be given the keys to run Space. And once that happens, everything changes. So I have no desire to stay in that club for any reason,” says Cox. The club’s owner, Pepe Rosello at 80 year’s of age, will no longer have a contract with the venue. Pepe has been a long time friend with Cox, and the DJ does not feel the need to perform there once more after Pepe is out.

Essentially, what Carl Cox was telling the conference is that the club will still be there. He seems to not be a fan of the new group [Ushuaia] who will be taking over the club. The Ushuaia group houses residencies with the likes of David Guetta, Hardwell, Armin van Buuren, and Axwell & Ingrosso. Those names should give you a little bit of an idea as to why the veteran techno DJ does not agree with what the new group has to offer for Space. As for now, enjoy this live stream of the last time that Mr. Carl Cox will take the decks at this amazing night club on the island of Ibiza.
