Jay Z’s second annual Made In America festival held in Philadelphia took place Labor Day Weekend which showcasd many amazing artist and genres. Made In America’ documentary released on Showtime shows the festival’s first edition in 2012 features headliners from Run DMC to Skrillex.

Impressed by the music of Skrillex, Jay Z believes that EDM is the music of the future

In this documentary Ron Howard also goes behind the scenes with Skrillex and even gets some pointers on how to DJ. (fast foward to – 51:50)

Heres What Jay Z had to say:

“EDM, people are dismissing as a fad sort of like they did hip-hop, that I think is going to be a bit more sticky. I think it’s good music of the next generation, it’s their soundtrack, it’s their music they’re claiming as they own. They’ll buy hip hop and they’ll buy other music but they’re like “this music is ours.” Kid’s don’t want to listen to their dad’s music, they want to be on the cutting edge of something new, and I think this is something they can claim.”

Justin Bieber accused of punching Michael Woods’ manager in South Korea

Apparently Justin Beiber jumps on stage during Michael Woods’ set in South Korea and demanded that Woods start playing hip hop. Beiber took a swing at Woods’ manager after he was told to “fuck off” by Woods himself.

The party’s host Ben Baller tells TMZ. Woods is blowing the whole thing WAY out of proportion — and claims not one sucker punch was thrown.

TMZ says Baller admits Bieber and Woods did have an arguement over the music however states things were resolved before anything got physical.

Michael Woods Twitter says otherwise:

Shout out to Woods for standing up to Bieber.

Deadmau5 also upset over the altercation.

Once Woods set was over it looks like Bieber gets on stage and plays his hip hop.

Afrojack Headed to Space…MAYBE? (VIDEO INTERVIEW)

Afrojack states in an interview with vibe he may have an opportunity to go to space on Virgin Galactic. (Airline offering suborbital spaceflights). He hasn’t made up his mind just yet.

“Normally, I would say, ‘Hell Yeah! Let’s go!” he tells VIBE. “But I don’t know if it’s safe. I have a kid and a family; I want to make sure it’s safe. If it’s absolutely safe, I might be the first musician up in space.”

We think he should do a live dj set from space!!

Counterpoint is hosting its second-annual festival weekend April 25-27; its new home is in Rome, Georgia: Kingston Downs. Last year the festival was held in Fairburn,Ga September 27-29 2012. However, this year TomorrowWorld took over Bouckaert during those dates and Counterpoint moved its festival to april and a beautiful new location. Kingston Downs is known as a horse-racing venue however we are excited to see the transformation it will undergo for the amazing CounterPoint Music Festival.
