Axwell Λ Ingrosso (Formerly of Swedish House Mafia) Release ‘More Than You Know’ EP This 5/24/17

It’s the dawn of a new era for dance music icons Axwell Λ Ingrosso as they gear up for their most highly-anticipated release since their Swedish House Mafia days. This Wednesday 5/24, the re-invented duo finally unveil their More Than You Know EP in conjunction with their internationally-televised performance at arguably soccer’s biggest club tournament match, the UEFA Europa League final.

Axwell Λ Ingrosso have been teasing their global fanbase for the past month, releasing “Renegade,” one of the singles from the EP, to widespread acclaim and cementing their status as innovators by achieving a world-first in premiering the entire music video via their instagram story. Not only that, the art for the EP and aforementioned video were directed by Francesco Ragazzi, frequent collaborator with hip-hop paragons Pharrell, A$ap Rocky, and the genius creative behind brands like luxury fashion giant Moncler.

The EP release also follows their previous single “I Love You” feat. platinum rapper Kid Ink breaching the #1 spot on both the Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart as well as the Mediabase Dance charts.

All in all, Axwell Λ Ingrosso are continuing to push the envelope while maintaining their standard for releasing great dance music. The guys are available for limited interviews and advance copies of the EP are available for review purposes.

Sunset Music Festival Artist Spotlight: Drezo

Well folks, have made it halfway through SMF Month which means there’s only two more weeks until the big weekend. Discounted tickets can still be purchased by CLICKING HERE. Once again it’s time to take another look at this fantastic lineup of Sunset Music Festival 2017. This special edition of our SMF artist spotlights we have chosen to go deep into the dark house music sounds that is the one and only, Drezo.

Drezo jumped into the scene quickly at a young age of 21 and didn’t look back. In late 2012 he won Insomniac’s Discovery Project which earned him a dream time slot at EDC Orlando’s Neon Garden stage. Drezo later produced his first EP- Mandingo, which showed everyone what he would be bringing to the table as far as producing. His signature sound of the dark side of 4/4 house music with deep chunky bass kicks has gained tons of ground in the EDM scene over the past couple of years. You could compare this to the sound of the masked project, Malaa, that was developed a few years after Drezo’s debut. It’s almost like a hybrid of g-house meets hip-hop, meets deep house. Can it get any darker than that? Only guys like Drezo have the answer to that question. One of our favorite recent productions by Drezo was his remix of Destructo, “4 Real.”

Drezo is set to perform at Sunset Music Festival on the Horizon Stage from 6:00-7:15pm on Saturday, May 27, 2017. You can expect a plethora of those dark and thumping bass kicks from Drezo and many others alike during his set on Saturday. If you are new to this sound, don’t be surprised to find yourself digging deeper and wanting to hear more afterwards. Trust me, it’s quite an addicting sound of house music. Like the many great productions Drezo has delivered in the past, his sets are energetic and memorable which is what we as music fans look for and appreciate at a music festival. Catch a glimpse of what his set will be like below from his performance at EDC New York 2016.

Tickets are still available by CLICKING HERE! Prices are about to increase, so get your tickets now at the lowest available cost before they go up in price.

Sunset Music Festival 2017 Artist Spotlight: Alok

We have finally reached the one month mark until we are gathering in Tampa, Florida to bask in the musical glory that is Sunset Music Festival. This rapidly growing EDM festival is set to take place on Memorial Day Weekend of May 27-28th which will be held at Raymond-James Stadium. Get your discounted tickets now by clicking here. Disco Donnie Presents and Sunset Events, the two promoter masterminds behind this festival have once again delivered a jam-packed lineup of artists that created quite a buzz around social media upon its release. We will take an in-depth look at this lineup leading up to the festival to give you some insight, and perhaps shed some light on a few artists that you might be interested in seeing perform live at SMF this year. To start things off with dissecting this lineup, we will begin with the Brazilian house juggernaut: Alok.

Alok, aka Alok Achkar Peres Petrillo, is a house music producer hailing from the beautiful Brazilian Highlands who is no stranger to the dance music world. Growing up in a family of musicians, Alok began his journey as an artist at a young age. His path was paved with an absolute love for music and creating the art with his brother and parents, which Alok’s craft has certainly reflected. Though he has become a prominent name in the Brazilian dance music scene, you might have started seeing his name with the recent release of his massive tune, “Hear Me Now,” off of Spinnin’ Records. The track gained tons of support from huge names in the industry and even received a great remix made by EDX and Nora En Pure. It has currently racked up 3 million plays on SoundCloud, and it has made it to the 20th spot on the Billboard dance music charts.

Alok’s sound can be described as that signature mid-tempo deep house that producers in Brazil have made famous over the years. It has that groovy NuDisco feel combined with the undertones of deep house that is simply irresistible. Those deep basslines and catchy rhythms of his sets and productions are sure to have the entire crowd moving down in Tampa next month at SMF. This style of house music has been slowly creeping into the dance music scenes in the United States, and we could not be more supportive. Check out a recent mix below to get a taste of what to expect to hear from Alok, and be sure to show him your support if you are planning to attend SMF.

Pasquale Rotella Reveals EDC Las Vegas 2017 Lineup

Tonight was a special night for Pasquale Rotella and the Insomniac team. During a special episode of Ngithowl Radio on Electric Area, Sirius channel 52, Pasquale compiled a mix of tracks from each and every artist that will be on the EDC Las Vegas lineup this June 16-18 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The internet went crazy trying to decipher the tracks and figure out which artists Pasquale was playing through the radio. He would only play a few seconds of each track, and most of the music without a familiar hook was rather challenging to decode. Along with our keen ability to ID many dance music tracks, we found some help with a few folks who know their stuff as well. Here is the full video of the live stream from Night Owl Radio. If you haven’t seen it, try to figure some of the names out. We really enjoyed playing along with Pasquale.

Below is a list of all the artists that we could find from either our own knowledge or from a few of our internet comrades. Please note that this is not the entire lineup, nor is this the official bill. We will update the full lineup when it is officially released tomorrow on April 28th. From the looks of it so far, this lineup is one of the biggest ones in EDC history which is a feat in of itself.

Duke Dumont at Opera Nightclub, Atlanta

Ah, the sweet remedy of that four on the floor rhythm, blanketed with some chunky basslines and blissful piano melodies are those key ingredients for a groovy night of house music.

From the talented homegrown duo of Halogen from Atlanta to the one and only Duke Dumont, Opera Nightclub was given an evening full of, “Massive chunes!!” As Mr. Pete Tong would pronounce it. The folks with Liquified could not have picked a better one-two punch of house music talent on Friday, April 14th. This kind of music doesn’t come often on the big stage events in this bass loving city; but when it does, that quiet little ATL house music community comes out in full force.

Duke Dumont put on a fantastic performance, which even surprised me with how some artists tend to play here in Atlanta. This set even impressed some friends over in LA which has a well established house and techno scene. Duke Dumont took the Atlanta crowd on a journey from hits of his own work to even the dark side of the house genre. It was a little surprised to hear a little techno thrown in there as well which was a refreshing change of pace.

One great takeaway from this show was that there were several people attending the show who felt that Atlanta deserves more house music shows at the level of talent Liquified and Opera Nightclub is capable of booking. Regardless, it is always a memorable night of groovy music when we do get blessed with such artists. Duke Dumont is definitely one of those dance music bucket list DJs. You’ll get something a little different each time he gets behind the decks which can be quite a rare experience in this EDM era. The next time Duke Dumont is in your area, make the effort to catch one of his shows. Coming from a househead as myself, his sets are simply a recipe for endless grooves.
