“Leading up to its milestone 15th anniversary, we take a look at the artists, fans, and masterminds behind Bonnaroo, along with the rich musical traditions and self-sustaining community that the Tennessee festival has fostered over the years.”
Tritonal kick off 2016 with new single “Blackout,” a fan favorite that has been played out in sets and DJ mixes by the duo for a year and now finally sees the light of day. Out now via Enhanced Music, the single marks a step forward for Tritonal by adding deep sub-bass kick drums and dark snares into their already signature style of melodic electro house to create a new sound that is as equally cinematic as it is symphonic. Featuring vocals from Steph Jones, the song is sure to give even the most ardent Tritonians chills from the moment it starts.
Accompanying the new single “Blackout” is a remarkable music video by Dano Cerny, the acclaimed director behind Galantis’ “Runaway (U & I),” and “You” videos. The video tells the story of a lost, lonely and disenfranchised pink-haired girl who fears that she’ll never find a companion. As the song builds towards it’s bridge however, she finally connects with someone just as “different” as she is as they discover a world of light and joy together.
Boasting four Top 10 Billboard Dance singles in the past 18 months, Tritonal closed out 2015 at the top of their game. With a bevy of singles including “Gamma Gamma” and “Untouchable” with Cash Cash, which has received over sixteen million streams via Spotify, the duo have reaffirmed themselves as two of electronic music’s most dynamic producers.
Last fall, Tritonal went on the Untouchable Tour, a 40-plus city run that saw the duo play in front of sold-out crowds at famed venues such as Los Angeles’ Club Nokia, New York’s Terminal 5, Washington DC’s Echostage, and San Francisco’s Warfield.

We said just a few days prior to Don Diablo performing at Gold Room Atlanta that house music fans were in for a treat, and we weren’t lying about it. It had been a long time coming for the dutch house producer to grace us with his presence again. On Saturday, January 16th, Mr. Hexagon gave us a wonderful night filled with oh-so groovy melodic house tunes.
Don definitely warmed the crowd from a rather chilly winter night in ATL with his catchy piano melodies and dancefloor moving future house bass lines. The club setting that Gold Room provides goes hand in hand with the style of music that Don Diablo brings. His set was like a journey through the several different styles of house music which he has dabbled in throughout his career. Don pulled out all the stops, playing all of his latest chart-topping hits from his remix of, “Make Me Feel Better,” to his crowd favorite, “Chemicals” with Tiesto.
This was the second time that I was able to experience Don Diablo live. The first time was at Sunset Music Festival in Tampa last spring. Both of which were absolutely fantastic and fun experiences. Now that I have seen Don Diablo in both a festival and club environment, I think that it is safe to say that both are memorable and worth every minute. If you have yet to catch Don Diablo live, whether at a festival or a show, do so whenever given the opportunity.
Gold Room Atlanta consistently delivers with some top-notch acts in electronic dance music. Coming up next for this club is the one and only, Andrew Rayel on Saturday, February 6th. Also be sure to plan for R3HAB coming to play on the 27th of February. Both of these dates should be spectacular shows you do not want to miss.
The wait is finally over for the video of the most played track of 2015. Check out the Official Music Video for “Deep Down Low” by Valentino Khan. The video was shot in Tokyo.
Try and see if you can spot Skrillex in the video!
House music fans of Atlanta are in for a treat this weekend. After a long two year break from playing in ATL, Don Diablo will be bringing his future house groove to the dancefloor of Gold Room this Saturday night. The Dutch producer has had a massive 2015, consistently delivering quality tunes which were played all over the festival circuit during the year.
From late spring into the summer, Don Diablo took over the house music world and released several chart topping tracks. Throughout his time producing, he has played around with many different sounds and styles of house music. As of late, he has added a melodic twist to the future house style he has been making. So far, it has gained a huge amount of popularity within the electronic music community. Don’s summer vibe remix of Alex Adair’s, “Make Me Feel Better,” was one of his breakout releases of the year leading into spring. Shortly after that, we got a massive release of his original track, “Universe” from Spinnin’ Records. Around that same time, Don Diablo created his own record label called Hexagon. This label showcases new talent from new artists on the rise, as well as new releases from Don Diablo himself. Not to mention his summer hit song “Chemicals” with Tiesto was probably one of the biggest tracks of Don’s career.
Over the past year, Don Diablo has certainly been a busy man between playing gigs all over the world and producing music in the studio. This Saturday, you expect a great show with lots of groovy house music from Mr. Hexagon to take you on a journey through his artwork. Of course, since the producer is constantly releasing new tunes, you can expect to hear something new at this weekend’s show as well. To reflect on what a great year that Don Diablo had, he created an awesome year mix full of all his work from 2015. Check it out below, and get yourself ready for the show this weekend. You can grab your tickets for this Saturday’s show here.
New Years Eve, that time of year where we go out and party all night to celebrate the year coming to a close and the beginning of a new one. In cities all across America, parties big and small are happening in just about any place you can imagine. For Tampa, Florida, Amphitheatre Event Facility was the place to be for NYE. Disco Donnie Presents and Sunset Events teamed up to deliver a jam-packed night with some great music to ring in the new year. This venue located in historic Ybor City of Tampa is arguably one of our favorite event venues to visit in the south eastern region. With great atmosphere to lighting and production, this event facility keeps us coming back.
For this year’s NYE celebration, Amp Tampa brought along GTA, Wiwek, and Vincent to the party. All three of which brought different styles of music to keep the dancefloor grooving. We like to think of Wiwek as one of the hidden gems in EDM with his unique jungle terror sound. It is a perfect segway to any other genre like electro, moombah, or even trap, which he included in his set.
Of course, GTA brought down the house with their #deathtogenres style which flowed perfectly with the kind of occasion we were celebrating. They featured some of the tracks from their recent EP Death To Genres Vol. 2 plus an assortment trap and hip-hop thrown in as well.
Amp Tampa delivered with a great party to celebrate the ending of the eventful year of 2015. It’s no wonder Amp is a favorite spot among locals for EDM events each week in Tampa. They have brought a lot of big names in electronic music over the years, so you can expect for them to do the same for 2016 as well.
Just after Christmas, Atlanta was treated with something special down at the Georgia Freight Depot in Downtown. This was a one night event with 2 stages and an all-star local DJ lineup. Big Beats Festival pulled out all the stops with providing some great lighting production and quality sound, combined to create an all around great musical experience for the people attending.
The lineup delivered a mixture of the top hits of EDM, Hip-hop, and trap music. Headlining this show were Araab Muzik, Walshy Fire of Major Lazer, DJ Scratch, and ATL’s very own, Leah Culver. Joining these headliners was a plethora of local and regional talent, featuring some hometown favorites like Midnite Panda, Baels, Eddie Gold, Stranger Candy, and much more.
The venue was honestly great; not many places around Atlanta can encompass an aura like the Georgia Freight Depot. The event’s production was absolutely wonderful as well. Both the sound and lighting exceeded expectations. The bass rocked the old brick walls, not to mention the lights and lasers were very impressive as well. Throw all of that together with some good music from a decent lineup of performers, and you’ve got yourself a great event. Hopefully with due time, this event will grow into something big in the near future. With every new event, there are some trails and tribulations that come with the territory. But we do feel as though this event can come back and be even bigger and better than the first. After all, it does have big in its name, right? Maybe they will have some more big tricks up their sleeve for the next go round.
It has been one hell of a year, but now it’s time for it to come to a close. What better way to say goodbye to 2015, and hello to 2016 than at The Amp in Tampa with the likes of GTA, Wiwek, and Vincent? The Amphitheatre Event Facility, located in Historic Ybor City, is one of central Florida’s premier event venues for all things dance music.
This Thursday night The Amp is bringing out not one, but three headliners for this special New Year’s Eve celebration. Get ready for some heavy hitting hip-hop and trap from Vincent, groovy jungle terror by Wiwek, and the genre-bending GTA to ring in the new year in the biggest way possible.
