Carnage Reveals ‘Parental Advisory Tour 2014’ for North America [Dates TBA]

On Tuesday, July 8th, the EDM juggernaut known as Carnage announced his upcoming tour for this fall. This tour will be Carnage’s very first North American bus tour. Carnage has exploded within the last 8 months with his unforgettably epic sets. Carnage played his first festival at Ultra Music Festival 2013 in Miami, where he had an early 2 PM time-slot. For this year in 2014, things have changed dramatically for the DJ. Carnage went from playing that early slot in 2013 in Miami, to headlining Ultra Music Festival Miami this year with a prime-time spot. Within exactly one year, the founder of Chipotle Gang himself has went from opener to headliner of major music festivals around the globe.

Everyone has been on the edge of their seats to see when and where Carnage will be playing next. This was the moment that Chipotle Gang USA has all been waiting for. Carnage took to social media around noon Tuesday announcing his tour along with a preview video. Below is his tweet announcing the tour and you can check out the cool video as well.

Stay tuned for dates and locations to be announced next week on July, 15th. If you are apart of the Carnage Fan Club, you will be able to purchase tickets on the day of the dates announcement. Full sale of tickets will be released on July, 24th.

Become Facebook Official With New Friends At TomorrowLand 2014 (VIDEO)

We have all been there before with meeting new amazing friends at music festivals. You meet that really awesome person while at the festival, and for a short period of time, you think you might become best friends for life with them. Then in the heat of the moment, you get separated and lose that new friend just as quickly as you found them. Now you just have to hope that by some miracle you find your new “BFF” in a mass of thousands of people, in which the odds are certainly not in your favor. You then kick yourself for forgetting to get that person’s number or Facebook profile from them, which is bad vibes all around for you and your long lost friend. This terrible situation that happens to most is now a thing of the past with this year’s edition of TomorrowLand bracelets.

tomorrowlandbracelet

TomorrowLand has developed a genius concept with their bracelets for this year by syncing each bracelet with the owner’s Facebook account. Each ticket purchaser will get a gift box containing the unique bracelet. A magical key is used to unlock the TomorrowLand gift box to reveal the bracelet. Once you have your bracelet, you must visit TomorrowLand.com and activate it. To activate the bracelet, it requires first and last name, email address, and the special 12-digit code located on the back side of the bracelet. The final step is to link the bracelet to your Facebook account.

Once inside the festival, you are now open to share with anyone else who has their TomorrowLand bracelet linked to their Facebook as well. Once you have met someone you want to link up with, simply press the little heart button on your bracelet at the same exact time as your new friend to wirelessly send your information to their Facebook page. Once you have synced, you and your new friend will receive a daily special friendship email. Within this email, you will have the contact info of all the friends of whom you have connected with via your TomorrowLand bracelet.

This is an amazing concept that we have all been waiting for. Honestly, it would be a great thing for other festivals throughout the world to follow suit. Since social media is so widely used these days, why not utilize this within the festival to connect everyone? Below is the instructional video that TomorrowLand posted about activating a TomorrowLand bracelet.

Shaq Debuts At Chateau As DJ DIESEL (VIDEO)

If you thought Paris Hilton becoming a DJ was crazy enough, you thought wrong! Brace yourself for this, because you won’t believe who else has decided to dabble in the electronic music world. Shaquille O’Neal has become a DJ known as DJ DIESEL according to TMZ Sports, who first broke the news over the weekend. Shaq, AKA DJ DIESEL, made his debut DJ performance at the Chateau nightclub in the Paris Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas last Friday night. Apparently the big man is actually serious about being a DJ.

TMZ spoke with DJ Irie, who is the the team DJ for the Miami Heat. According to Irie, Shaq has been practicing his musical talent for years while playing in the NBA. Here is what DJ Irie told TMZ Sports:

“When Shaq was in Miami he actually made a studio in his house,” Irie says, “We’d go there and make beats and do mashups. He was very much into DJ’ing. We actually made 3-4 mixtapes. We had a preseason game in Puerto Rico one year and I was there DJ’ing a party. Shaq came up to the booth and said, ‘Let me get on.’ The first song he played was ‘Move B**ch’ by Ludacris. He rocked me!”

TMZ does have a video of Shaq’s DJ performance from last Friday at the Chateau, but unfortunately there is no sound. We think that TMZ Sports might be wary of copyright infringement. However, we were able to dig up a recent video of the big man, known as DJ DIESEL, spinning along side DJ Irie during TNT’s Inside The NBA show. Here you can see DIESEL scratching in the booth with Irie, and you can get a little taste of what you might have seen last Friday night in Vegas. Check out the video below!

Fundraiser For Fellow Festival-Goer’s Funeral From The Tragedy At Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas

As a writer for the EDM community, I never enjoy hearing tragic news of deaths at music festivals or shows, nor do I like being bearer of bad news with said news. Over this past weekend, tragedy struck the community as we learned that a fellow EDM family member has tragically passed away. Shortly after sunrise last Saturday at Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, Montgomery Tsang, 24, collapsed outside of Las Vegas Motor Speedway which is the venue for the festival. Tsang was taken to a local hospital in Las Vegas where he was pronounced deceased later that morning. But as the old saying goes, with tragedy comes the possibility of triumph. I recently came across a fundraiser that was created by a girl named Ashlee Pham to assist Tsang’s family with the funeral costs.

While I don’t feel it is necessary to post about a death at an event, I felt the need to talk about what has followed the tragic death of this young man. Most blogs only post about the death of a person without any consideration of the deceased family or friends in the matter. It really saddens me to see that stories such as this get posted on these EDM blogs, some of them without including condolences, just to get people to click on their article and share it. Although I definitely felt the need to post about this amazing fundraiser for Mr. Tsang. I thought that a positive post would be something necessary to do, not only for the community, but for the person who passed away as well. I was completely blown away at the generosity from not only his family and friends, but the EDM community as well. The fundraiser has accumulated over $14,000 with over 190 supporters in just a few short days which is absolutely incredible. It warmed my heart to read all the kind comments on the fundraiser’s page in honor of Monte Tsang. This is one of the many reasons why I love the EDM community. The fact that most of these people whom did not really know Mr. Tsang, was generous enough to donate money to help his family cover his funeral costs. This shows that this community does care about one another no matter who that person may be or where they are from. Something as small as donating a few dollars or even sending condolences to the family and friends shows just how wonderful and loving this community really is. Here is a quote from the Monte Tsang Fundraiser page:

“On June 21, 2014, our dear friend and beloved brother passed away at the young age of 24. Monte was described as loving, energetic, uplifting and always genuine. He had everyone’s best interest at heart and never failed to light up a room with his charming smile. We are devastated to lose one of our best, but can only hope that he will be remembered for the amazing and caring man that he was.”

Please take a moment and visit the fundraiser’s website below. There you can send a donation of any dollar amount that you’d like. You can also leave a comment on the page, as well as share the fundraiser via Facebook, Twitter, and Google+. Like I mentioned before, the fundraiser has reached over $14,000 in donations with a $20,000 goal with just under 8 days left. If you would like to donate to Monte’s funeral, please click below and do so now. Our deepest condolences go out to the family and friends of Mr. Monte Tsang.

Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas is underway in the desert. EDC is one of the most magical experiences of a lifetime for festival-goers. This EDM festival is one of the most highly anticipated of the festival season. Each year tens of thousands pack into Las Vegas Motor Speedway to witness a weekend that they will never forget. One of the many aspects of the monumental music festival is the experience itself. EDC is something that can’t be described in words, you simply just have to be there. This magical weekend that is shared among the thousands within the festival grounds will now be shared among millions via the internet. Unlike a traditional live stream that most music festivals provide, EDC Las Vegas will be broadcasting live hand-picked footage of the festival. It is a win-win for the people attending the festival, and for the viewers at home on the internet. EDC Curated will share some of the experience with the viewers at home, while still keeping that one of a kind experience within the venue for the people there in person. Insomniac founder and CEO, Pasquale Rotella, tells us just what exactly separates a regular live stream and the EDC Curated broadcast.

“For years, I’ve been debating whether or not we should broadcast EDCVegas online, but after watching other events adopt live-streaming, I felt that a traditional approach wasn’t for us. Sure it may capture the crowds and the artists, but our experience is about so much more than that. That’s why we’re getting away from the traditional live stream format and creating something completely different. With EDC Curated, we are producing a unique experience that allows those watching around the world to select and view handpicked footage that highlights different aspects of the show. In doing so, we also preserve the experience for those fans that attend in the flesh.” – Pasquale Rotella

Below are the different broadcasts of each stage at EDC LV, where you can see for yourself what EDC Curated is all about.

Krewella Releases Troll Mix Vol. 13: Sex On The Dance Floor (FREE DOWNLOAD)

Krewella brings us their lates troll mix earlier yesterday afternoon. Every time these guys post one of their mixes, it gets better and better. Last month, they gave us a 150bpm episode of nothing but hard beats. They certainly did not disappoint for this recent mix. Krewella touched on all the bangers heard in sets around the globe, playing familiar songs from start to finish. The mix contains a broad range of genres including house, dubstep, trap, and yes, even hardstyle. This is one of the main reasons that I really enjoy listening to these Troll Mixes; the fact that they can perfectly blend popular sub genres to EDM together to make one great mix, it leaves the listener wanting more and more with each time. One of my favorite tracks from the mix was the hardstyle mix of their classic track, “Alive,” by the artist Rebourn. Some other notable tracks were, Seven Lion’s remix of Tritonal’s track, “Still With Me,” Skrillex’s “Ease My Mind,” and Armin van Buuren’s edit of the Krewella song, “Live For The Night.” This mix was very fun to listen to, and I’m sure that there will be more where that came from. Check out the Troll Mix here, and as always, they made it a free download. Give it a listen, and download your free copy as well.
