Carnage: 1, Crowd: 0 After Stage Dive In Nashville [VIDEO]

The story that is has swarmed social media over the last day was Carnage trying out his first ever stage dive in the U.S. This was not his first attempt at a stage dive, though. Earlier in July, the big guy attempted a stage dive in Ibiza while performing with DVBBS. The interwebs blew up with comical stories about that glorious moment for Carnage. Last night during his show in Nashville was where the big man decided he would, once again, take a stage dive. The crowd did a wonderful job with catching him. If you don’t already know, Mr. Chipotle is not on the small side. Although most blogs are poking fun, claiming people were injured/killed, no one was actually hurt during the dive. Who said chubby men can’t do a stage dive? Check out the video in his Facebook post below at the historic moment for Carnage and the vastly growing Chipotle Gang.

Make no mistake about it, these DJ’s are on this list for a reason. Some people would attest saying that they do not belong, but to be honest, these DJ’s worked very hard to get where they are. Even though this list is based more off of popularity than talent, at the end of the day, they still worked to get there. Hardwell took to Twitter earlier to thank his fans for voting him into the number one spot for a second year in a row.

10 Lessons Learned From TomorrowWorld 2014

Once again, the monster EDM festival known as TomorrowWorld, graced us with its presence in Chattahoochee Hills, Ga. It was the second installment from the inaugural launch back in 2013. TomorrowWorld had such a massive response from all over, and it helped bring in millions to the city of Atlanta. The festival attracted tens of thousands of people each day, with many remaining on the festival grounds in Dreamville for the weekend. Whether TomorrowWorld 2014 was your first festival or not, there are still many trials and tribulations you will face when attending. Here is a list of ten of my observations and discoveries that we should all take note of from attending TomorrowWorld in its entirety. These can be beneficial for you to help make your next TomorrowWorld experience that much better.

1) The dreaded walk to Dreamville

trailoftearstw

First and foremost, we were all aware of this dreaded walk we had to make from the parking lots. Yes, even the first timers of TomorrowWorld were warned. If you went to TomorrowWorld 2013, you knew all about that awful walk with all of your belongings you had to bring for the weekend. To save yourself from taking multiple trips to your car, having a wagon is a must. Obtaining some sort of cart with wheels will save your life. There is nothing worse than being too exhausted for the fun in Dreamville because you walked 10 miles and made 4 trips to your car. If you do not have something with wheels, you should make damn sure that you do in the future.

2) Nutrition is vital (Can’t stress this enough)

vitamins

I know, seems obvious right? Well contrary to your beliefs, not many people attending TomorrowWorld prepared themselves with VITAMINS AND NUTRITION! Georgia is known for its bipolar weather. It can be humid and hot in the morning, then cold and wet at night. Many people who attended TomorrowWorld this year ended up being sick for days, and some were sick up to a week or two after the festival was over. With the weather changing from hot to cold within a few hours span can be detrimental to a person’s immune system. A simple fix to prevent that is to bring plenty of vitamin-C, a few good over the counter meds, and healthy food to snack on. Personally, I made sure to take vitamin-C as soon as I woke up along with eating two good meals throughout the day and snacks. For the people that followed this regiment, they were able to keep from catching the infamous “T-Bola” virus. Your body and your mind will thank you if you eat well and take vitamins throughout the weekend. Not only will this prevent you from getting sick, it will also give you the energy you need for all the partying you will be partaking in as well.

3) Festival Port-A-Potties: Prepare for smells and bring your own TP!

festpotties

We all know that festival restrooms, AKA Port-A-Potties, are just pure evil. If you have never attended a festival before, may God have mercy on you when you step into that plastic capsule of death to take care of your morning glory. There is no way to prepare yourself for this one. For TomorrowWorld this year, I have never seen such monstrosity in those Dreamville Port-A-Potties before. The festival did not have enough to handle the amount of people in the festival grounds. There was a constant flow, pun intended, of people using these restrooms. Along with the nasty potties, you should know that toilet paper is like gold at a festival and you should bring plenty of your own for yourself. You should be smart in recognizing this. A veteran move would be to hold on until the venue opens for the day and go use the Port-A-Potties in there. That is a little secret that I learned from attending festivals in the past. The ones out in the camping area are emptied each night, but you have people using them all throughout the night. The potties inside the venue are not used over night, therefore, less mess inside them. Take this advice and use it, you will thank me for it later.

4) Don’t forget to shower!

twshowers

As many of you probably figured out during your stay at TomorrowWorld, the lines for the showers were crazy if you did not go at the crack of dawn. Most of us were not able to do that due to the partying the night before. One good way to keep from paying for a shower and standing in a line forever would be to bring a large reusable container for water, or a camping shower. Just throw on a swimsuit and dump the water on you with a little soap and get yourself all clean for the day of raging ahead. If you do not have the water container, at least bring plenty of baby wipes and clean yourself that way. The baby wipes might not be as effective as the showering method, but at least you won’t be too stinky after a day full of dancing. Remember, no one likes to be next to that one person who doesn’t shower all weekend. Clean yourself any way you can!

5) Good shoes are a must have

nike

Your feet will thank you for this one. If you have sensitive feet, you are really going to need some comfy but durable shoes. Some people claimed to have walked up to 18 miles throughout the weekend at TomorrowWorld. Do yourself a favor and get yourself something that will not kill your feet like some good running shoes. Any name brand will work well for running shoes. Nike Free Run shoes were one of the top choices to use from most of the people I talked to. I did, however, see too many people wearing shoes that are not meant for this type of environment, and they were all complaining about having bad blisters on their feet. If running shoes are not your style and you like the shoes that you have, at least invest in some Dr. Scholls inserts. Those little slabs of squishy goodness are heaven on the feet. If you don’t want to have trouble walking after day 1 because of bad shoes, then take heed to my advice and get durable shoes.

6) Be prepared for thieves

fannypack

I know right? Who would have thought there would be thieves at a music festival? You really need to consider what valuables you want to bring in. Hundreds of accounts of theft were happening in Dreamville and in the venue. People were being pick pocketed left and right while inside the venue. If you must have your valuables like your phone, wallet, etc., bring a fanny pack. I know what you’re thinking, a fanny pack makes you look like a mom from the mid 90’s. To be honest, having a fanny pack with your important belongings is very beneficial to you. The reason is, the fanny pack is in front of you and not on your back. Thieves have easy access to your valuables if they are on your backside. If you don’t want to have to carry too many valuables, make sure to only bring what is really important and leave the rest at home. One great addition that TomorrowWorld included is the lockers. If you are not a fan the fanny pack idea, the lockers are a great alternative to keeping your valuables safe. The downside with the lockers is, for example, if you lock your phone up and you need it, you will have to walk to the lockers to retrieve it. That feeling of having your valuables stolen is not fun, and if you prepare yourself accordingly, you will survive the weekend without anything being taken from you.

7) Take care of your skin

sunscreen

You will be in the sun for hours on end, so it is crucial that you take care of your skin. If you don’t want to look like a lobster and be uncomfortable all weekend, bring plenty of skin care products. The main items you truly need are sunscreen and bug spray. Along with being in the sun, you are surrounded by woods. Where there are woods, there are lots of little creatures that come with the territory. No one wants pesky insects bothering them all weekend. Make sure to prevent that by bringing plenty of bug spray for yourself.

8) Bring your own shade, because it’s going to be hot!

canopytent

One of the essentials that you will be thankful for is a canopy tent, that is if you didn’t already know about these. Just a simple 10’x10′ canopy tent can provide some shade and a cool spot for when you are hanging out in Dreamville during the day. Many people brought these shady havens with them, but there were plenty of people without them. The downside to canopy tents is that they are bulky and heavy, so getting them into Dreamville can be a little difficult. It is so worth the hassle in my experience with camping at music festivals. I can’t even tell you how many times people stopped by my campsite to cool off and get some shade underneath my canopy tent when it got hot over that weekend. If you can’t get yourself a canopy tent, find a friend who has one because you will not regret that decision.

9) Take care of your beloved TomorrowWorld, bring trash bags!

dreamvilletrashed

After TomorrowWorld 2014 ended, I have never seen so much trash in one area like I did there. The place looked like a third world country with piles of garbage everywhere. This is one thing that we could all easily prevent. Since the festival did not do a great job at providing plenty of trash bins throughout Dreamville, we could at least bring our own garbage bags to help just a little. Even if the trash cans were overflowing, you can still gather up the trash at your site, put it in a garbage bag, and sit it in the area that the garbage cans are. Each day I made sure to pick up the trash around my tent and my friend’s tents. It was a simple task that took no more than ten minutes to complete. If everyone at least brought just a few trash bags per person, we would have more than enough to make sure that when we leave TomorrowWorld in 2015, it will look no where near like it did this year.

10) Prepare yourself for the madness and see you next year!

twfamilyphoto

Last but not least, get ready for the madness! TomorrowWorld is an incredible experience. The environment that TomorrowWorld brings is like no other festival on earth. You will meet so many new friends from all over the world, and make some memories that will last forever. If you prepare yourself for everything you need, you can ensure that you will make your TomorrowWorld experience much more enjoyable. I feel that by pointing out some of these observations from this year’s festival can help both rookies and vets become better at preparing themselves a better TomorrowWorld experience. You can go from being a festival rookie to a veteran in no time by learning from your past mistakes. If next year will be your first TomorrowWorld, you can turn yourself into a pro by taking the correct precautions and eliminating the possibility of making rookie mistakes.  I hope that you learned from these observations, and you will take them with you for TomorrowWorld 2015!

Hunter Finds Naked Man in a Creek 4 Days After TomorrowWorld (VIDEO)

At this moment, we cannot confirm that this video is real or fake. For now, we just have the info that this hunter is claiming.

This is one of the weirdest stories that I have had to cover regarding post-music festival news. Yesterday on October 7th, a video was uploaded to YouTube of a hunter  in the woods not far from the site of the TomorrowWorld festival in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia, who is talking to a naked man across a creek. While you can barely see the naked man in the distance, you can hear the confused man try to explain what happened to him. The hunter, Casey Sanders, was nervously asking what the man was doing naked in the woods near his deer stand. It is quite chilling to hear how the naked man starts to recollect what happened to him, because he honestly doesn’t remember much. Apparently, the man was jumped by three people as he was leaving TomorrowWorld, taken down the road, stripped naked, and left alone in the middle of nowhere.

In the video’s description, Sanders said, “I showed up to my stand to bow hunt on Thursday, October the 2nd, and hear someone yell. I looked down to find a man standing in the creek holding a walking stick with not a stitch of clothing on him. Claimed he had been beaten up by some guys at Tommorwworld then dropped in the woods after they stripped him of everything. He spent days trying to find water and then he stuck to the creek once he found it. He recalled his number and I got in touch with somebody to come get him after I led him to the road. By far the craziest hunting story I will ever have!”

Here is the video below. Make sure to turn your volume up and you can hear the distress and confusion in the naked man’s voice. I really hope that the men that beat this person up and left him naked in the woods were not apart of the TomorrowWorld festival. If they were, then people need to start looking out for one another so things like this does not happen anymore. The famous question arose when I saw this video, “Could this be Carl?” All jokes aside, this is unfortunate what happened to the young man. Watch the video below and stay tuned for further information from this breaking story.

Rain Man Leaves Krewella, Files Lawsuit & The Girls Respond

News broke yesterday afternoon from The Hollywood Reporter that Kris Trindl, otherwise known as Rain Main, has left Krewella. According to the report, he is also suing the group for up to $5 million in damages. We have not heard anything from the Yousaf girls just yet. From the looks of it, Rain Man was put through a lot according to the lawsuit. Trindl claims that Yasmine and Jahan did not like the fact that he would not party like he used to, and they mistook his sobriety for “depression,” and started making plans to kick him out.

Krewella’s success skyrocketed from beginning of 2012 to the beginning of 2013. According to the lawsuit, “Kris and the Yousaf sisters were public about their drinking and partying, posting on the Internet video dispatches from the road that only served to stoke their popularity with an ever-growing worldwide fan base.”

Another quote from the lawsuit states, “Kris used alcohol to try to cope with the pressure,” his lawsuit states. “By late summer of 2013, he knew he had a drinking problem and checked himself into a detox program and then a 30-day rehab program.”

The lawsuit continues, “But the Yousaf sisters didn’t like the new, sober Kris, who took care of business but did not party or drink anymore. “They thought he was depressed, although he explained it was just part of the recovery process.”

From further reading through the lawsuit, it seems as though Trindl believes that the group had conspired to remove him from the group now that they had fame and money. It further states that they could have just hired in new help to produce tracks since they had to split one third of the money with Kris. All signs are pointing to greed and money as of late. Another quite disturbing quote from the claim was that, “It was not Kris’ health or sobriety the others were thinking about, it was all about keeping him off the road so Jahan and Yasmine could establish themselves to live audiences as a duo without Kris, so they could eventually erase him completely from Krewella and reap greater financial rewards.”

Later yesterday evening, the Yousaf sisters took to Facebook to respond to the fans about this whirlwind he said, she said legal battle. Here is their post on social media below:

As of now, it is going to be a long waiting game before the real truth comes out on what actually happened between the trio. I am not taking any sides until I see proof of what happened. In retrospect, we somewhat saw something like this coming for a long time now since Rain Man had been absent for multiple shows and festival performances. Maybe this could be the best thing for both sides. Krewella could either do better or worse depending on how much the sisters want to go further. For Rain Man, he is a great producer, and I’m sure he will find his way very soon. I think that he could go solo and do an awesome job as a DJ/producer, and I know that I am not alone on that thought. The sad part about a break up such as this is that Krewella will ultimately lose some fans. The girls will have a lot of work ahead of them since they will not have their star producer anymore. This is where the true talent will show as these next few months unfold for Krewella and Rain Man.

RaversChoice.com & Atlanta EDM Presents: TomorrowWorld Mobile Kandi Meet Up

Meet up’s at music festivals happen all the time, whether they be large or small. Most of the time, a meet up consists of a specific spot on the festival grounds. They can literally be found anywhere throughout a festival. The one common factor for each meet up is that they are stationary. That is all about to change for this weekend at TomorrowWorld. The crew here at RaversChoice.com and local promoter Atlanta EDM has teamed up to create a first ever mobile meet up for this festival. This is unique of its kind because this meet up is designed to come to you!

How this will be conducted is by having a specially designed totem made out of kandi with LED lighting. The sign has the official RaversChoice logo on one side and “Kandi Meet Up” on the other. It will be easily seen throughout any crowd at TomorrowWorld. The meet up will begin at the main stage near the T-Mobile Pool Party around 7:30pm. Once the meet up begins, we will move around from stage to stage. We want to make it to where everyone will have a chance to hang out, meet one another, trade kandi, and hopefully make new friendships. This mobile meet up will last through Saturday night. We will even be walking through Dreamville after the venue closes. Below is a map of  information about where our mobile meet up will begin, and a picture of our awesome meet up totem we created:

kandi meet

kandisign2

The whole reason behind this is simply because we don’t want anyone who would like to be a part of this meet up to be left out if they are at another stage from where we will start. As mentioned earlier, this meet up is designed to come to you if you are at any location in the festival. We are excited to make this happen, and we hope to get the opportunity to meet many new friends at TomorrowWorld. We don’t want to be seen as just a blog, we want to create a personal relationship with the many people that we deliver our content to on a daily basis. We would love for any of the People of Tomorrow to come and find us along our journey and make some memories together!

Social Media’s Reaction to The Gathering Lineup

Earlier this week, in the whirlwind of hype surrounding TomorrowWorld’s imminent arrival, festival representatives finally revealed the artist lineup for The Gathering, the official TomorrowWorld pre-party held in Dreamville on Thursday. This “Gathering” gives all campers an exclusive show as a generous welcoming present to get everyone amped for the real madness to ensue the next day! This year, a stage will be set up inside the campgrounds (unlike last year) where the artists below will be throwing down throughout the day and night:

tw gathering lineup 14

Sck lineup, right? Not according to the interwebs, apparently. Though a lot of the reactions were mixed, I saw more negative reactions than I anticipated seeing, particularly from users on Facebook and Twitter. Comments ranged from simply being underwhelmed or displeased with the artist selection to others threatening to not attend the first camping day at all. Threads were commented on in the hundreds, and complaints oozed out of each one. Here’s an example of the many complaints with TomorrowWorld’s Gathering lineup:

gatheringstatus2

Wow, to say the very least.

My question to the complainers would simply be, why? Why are you SO disappointed with the lineup? Because there isn’t any trance on there? Because you won’t get lost in techno for hours on end? Well, that’s what the main festival is for, and there will be plenty of opportunities over the following three days to check out a plethora of musical options. This seems to be the mantra of a lineup release; no matter the event, there will always be those who just can’t be pleased. It comes across as unreasonably whiny and snobby to raise so much fuss over nothing, when in fact, you can and probably will have a great time attending The Gathering.

Let’s not forget that The Gathering, first and foremost, is a welcoming party. The sole purpose of it is to get the first night in Dreamville started with a bang, and that means bringing in some banging artists. Plus, the lineup actually has great balance to it. You have some typical “EDM” like Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Yves V, and DVBBS. The bass heads out there will be more than satisfied to get down with Vaski and M4SONIC, and there’s even some groovier house artists in the form of Bixel Boys and jackLNDN. Multiple music tastes will be satiated throughout the day, and that is no reason to be upset.

Now, I understand if the music selection is not your cup of tea, and you are completely within your rights to not go to The Gathering if you don’t want to. But The Gathering is about setting up camp, reconnecting with old friends and making new ones, all while raging to some awesome music, so let’s not lose that spirit over a lineup you may not totally love.

I’m not sure what everyone was expecting, to be blown away by A-List talent from midday to midnight. The lineup is diverse and well put together for the most part. Not to say that it couldn’t have been improved, however. I personally wish that a hometown hero or two, like MK Ultra for example, were included to give the lineup an Atlanta touch. Nothing will compare to the two-stage extravaganza that was last year’s Gathering, but on top of the fact that it’s freakin’ TomorrowWorld, there’s plenty to be absolutely excited about for the Gathering, so let’s not make a mountain out of a molehill and overreact over a mostly solid welcoming lineup.

Ok, time for me get off my soapbox and ask you… What do you think of the Gathering lineup? Why do you like or dislike it, and what would you reasonably change about it to make it better? Let us know in the comments below!

Dada Life Turns Atlanta Into Dada Land

On the evening of August 30, 2014, the city of Atlanta became what is known as Dada Land for the night. According to witnesses, the city became ugly, and the two men from Sweden who call themselves Dada Life had taken over. No one knows why or how it happened, but that night, things got ugly in a hurry. Stores everywhere in the city were oddly experiencing a shortage of bananas and champagne. People were walking the streets with giant smiles on their faces all night. I can tell you right now that the city of Atlanta, I mean, Dada Land, will not be the same. Honestly, this was the first time anything big from Sweden came through the South besides Swedish Fish, so we were sure to be in for a treat.

IMG_7930-1

The DJ’s took to the stage by storm that night. The venue was packed from wall to wall to be amazed by the Swedish house duo. The stage was lined with bunches of bananas and in huge letters the word’s, “DADA LIFE,” were surrounding the DJ booth. Large inflatable bananas and champagne bottles were being volleyed all over the crowed. Many of the Dada Land citizens were handed large, goofy smile masks for them to wear throughout the show. Dada’s stage set up was absolutely incredible, and you could just feel that it was going to be a great show.

Dada Life played a set to be remembered that night. The guys played some of their classic hits like, “Kick Out The Epic Motherf*cker,” and my personal favorite, “So Young So High.” Also Dada also threw in some of their newest singles that we all know and love like, “Born To Rage” and “One Smile.” Of course, the guys sprinkled in some of the fattest, most juiciest tracks in EDM that made the crowd go –dare I say it?– bananas!

The show did not stop there. Towards the end of their set, the people in the crowd were handed pillows. What do you think happened after that? Well, a pillow fight occurred, that’s what! The citizens of Dada Land was asked to make some “Happy Violence” with some fluffy pillows, and sure enough, that’s exactly what happened. Dada Life has recently set a record back in 2013 and made the Guinness World Records with the world’s largest pillow fight in Chicago with nearly 4,000 people involved. Now, it seems as though the guys make it apart of their shows, which makes their sets that much more enjoyable. Below is a video captured via cell phone of the first ever pillow fight at Opera Nightclub.

I believe the city of Atlanta truly did change over to Dada Land for that night, and I’m not sure that it can actually go back to Atlanta anymore. The crowd arrived beautiful and left ugly. The set was amazing, the place was packed, and the energy was something next level. As Dada Life always says, “There are no rules, but the rules of Dada.” Sure enough, all everyone needed was one smile, and they gave them all night. The citizens of Dada Land had smiles on for days before they finally wore off from that epic show from Dada Life.
